On Tuesday, March 11th, the Daviess County CEO cohort took a short trip to the Daviess County Airport to meet with Bob Wake and explore the various opportunities available in the aviation industry.
Bob enthusiastically shared with the students the vast career possibilities in aeronautics, emphasizing roles such as pilots, air traffic controllers, mechanics, and airport management. He highlighted key aspects of airport development, including the need for T-hangars, the airport's regulated growth by percentage, and the significance of extended runways for county infrastructure.
Additionally, he introduced the cohort to the Young Eagles Program, which provides young individuals with opportunities to experience flight and learn about aviation firsthand.
Throughout the discussion, Bob encouraged the students to follow their dreams and stay proficient in their pursuits, reinforcing the importance of dedication and continuous learning in any field.
As part of the visit, the cohort had the opportunity to tour the airport and view various aircraft up close. Owen Jarrett, a former CEO alumni, joined Bob in providing an insightful experience for the students. His participation offered a unique perspective on how CEO alumni continue to stay involved and benefit from networking within the community.
A special thank you to Bob and Owen for their time, knowledge, and encouragement, making this visit an inspiring experience for the Daviess County CEO students.
