On September 19th, members of the Daviess County Cohort were honored to join the Martin County Cohort for an engaging visit with Brooke Hawkins at Hawkins Health Center. Brooke, who partners with her husband Jordan, shared their journeys into chiropractic care and the evolution of their business, offering valuable lessons to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Brooke opened the session by emphasizing the importance of dreaming big and finding one’s passion. She encouraged attendees to set clear goals and trust the process, reminding them that intuition and a willingness to learn from failure are essential components of success. Her mantra, “Fail forward, no regrets,” resonated deeply, reinforcing the idea that setbacks can be stepping stones toward growth.
A key theme of the visit was the importance of creating a positive workplace culture. Brooke reminded everyone to embrace the privilege of coming to work each day and to always remember their "WHY"—the core motivation behind their efforts.
Central to Brooke's message was the significance of defining core values and establishing a mission statement when starting a business. She shared Hawkins Health Center's core values, which include:
1. Leadership: Leading patients, doctors, and teammates with confidence and compassion.
2. Chiropractic: Actively sharing chiropractic stories to promote awareness and understanding.
3. Passion: Demonstrating a heartfelt commitment to patient wellness.
4. WOW Service: Striving to exceed expectations and provide exceptional service.
5. Integrity: Upholding ethical standards and doing what is right, even when no one is watching.
These values not only guide the team at Hawkins Health Center but also create a supportive environment where both patients and staff can thrive.
At the conclusion of the visit, both cohorts expressed their gratitude to Brooke for sharing her time and insights. The experience served as a powerful reminder of the impact that strong leadership and clear values can have on a business's success. As participants left, they carried with them not only newfound knowledge but also inspiration to apply these principles in their own journeys.
