On Friday, August 23, 2024, the Daviess County CEO Cohort had the opportunity to visit Jump-N-Jax, an entertainment center known for its massive inflatable slides, laser tag, arcade games, prize center, and food offerings. The group was welcomed by Scott Dyer, who shared insights from his experience running the business, now in its ninth season. He discussed the decision to open a second location in Washington, after the success of the first in Bloomington.
Scott emphasized several key points to the Cohort: recognizing the need for teenage entertainment in Daviess County, the importance of working smarter, developing solid business plans, the significance of branding and protecting your business name, understanding zoning laws, the importance of ambition, not being afraid to expand, and the value of happiness in pursuing your passion. He also challenged the group with a thought-provoking question, "Where do you want to be in five years?"
The visit was not only educational but also fun, as Scott allowed the Cohort to bond by playing laser tag and racing on the inflatables. A big thank you to Scott Dyer for an inspiring and enjoyable experience.
