On May 7th, the Daviess County CEO Cohort recently visited the Elmer Buchta Technology Center, located just off I-69, where they were warmly welcomed by Program Coordinator Bridget Butcher. Bridget started the day with a breakfast and a comprehensive tour of the facility, emphasizing its mission to support start-up businesses and provide customized training programs for employees.
The Elmer Buchta Technology Center, established as a non-profit, is designed to foster networking and collaboration. It offers a range of services for start-ups, from ideation to small-scale production, within its Maker Space. This environment is ideal for those who require reliable internet, printing, copying, and a supportive community.
For employers seeking to develop a skilled workforce, the center collaborates to create tailored training tools and talent pipelines. Individuals looking to invest in their own development can find programs that match their skills and career goals.
Supporting new businesses in southwest Indiana, the Buchta Tech Center aims to reduce start-up costs by providing necessary space, equipment, mentorship, and resources. Partnerships with Vincennes University and Ivy Tech Community College enable the center to offer valuable training and certifications for aspiring professionals in the region.
Thank you Bridget for your hospitality and insight on a great innovative idea and expression. This would be a great addition to any community.
