On May 1st, 2024, the Daviess County CEO cohort had the pleasure of welcoming Chris Craig, founder of the new Home Harvest Real Estate Company, along with his associate, Adam Grimes, an alumnus of a CEO program from Illinois. Chris Craig is a seasoned entrepreneur, best known for owning and operating the highly successful Invisible Fence company for 20 years. Before venturing into the Real Estate business, he served as a firefighter for two decades. Following the sale of his company, Chris was eager to remain active and pursued his passion for real estate by establishing Home Harvest.
Chris shared an encouraging message with the cohort, emphasizing that when one chapter closes, another opportunity often arises. He advised the students not to fear new beginnings and to remain steadfast in pursuing their passions despite any negative feedback. "Don’t let the naysayers hamper your passion," Chris urged. He also highlighted the importance of networking and making strong impressions with presentations. Chris passionately advocates for using promotional T-shirts, describing them as "walking billboards" that effectively advertise a business.
Adam Grimes recounted his own journey over the past five years, illustrating the unpredictable yet rewarding paths in entrepreneurship “TRY THINGS”. He encouraged the cohort to view adults as "grown-up children" and to communicate with them confidently. Stressing the significance of customer service, Adam explained that customer satisfaction ultimately determines a business's success. He also emphasized the value of recruiting the right talent, suggesting that headhunting can be essential to finding key team members.
The duo introduced the concept of the butterfly effect, underscoring how small actions can lead to significant outcomes. The cohort expressed their gratitude to Chris and Adam for sharing their valuable experiences and insights, considering their visit a profound blessing.
